Conclusion

The Chop and Lift Program can help the strength and conditioning specialist provide functional and sport-specific training as the athlete progressively strengthens the torso. Athletes are usually stronger in the chop than in the lift and may require different rates of progression for each. This also includes the involvement of plyometrics and medicine ball work. When in doubt about volume, intensity, or frequency, it is best to be conservative in program design.
